Default Patching the latest version of ganglia

The latest version of ganglia is broken. Patch here.

nano /usr/share/ganglia-webfrontend/cluster_view.php

The problem was finally easy to be fixed. As stated above, the problem is in cluster_view.php, line34. Just going to line 26 and substituting

$context_metrics = "";

with

$context_metrics = array();

fixes the whole problem! The solution was found at https://github.com/ganglia/ganglia-web/issues/324.

Also set send_metadata_interval = 30
in /etc/ganglia/gmond.conf

After all I found that ganglia web-frontend 3.7.2 is broken in various ways, so I have reinstalled the previous version 3.6.1 which works. It suffice to install Debian "Stretch" release, which has Ganglia version 3.6.1 working.
